Liberty or impression?protests are happening in Tibet and earthquake left thousands homeless but sadly to the Chinese government those things are not as important as to impress the world on the 08/08/08. Olympics is really just an opportunity to show off china's money making achievement.

the interest thing when i was in china this holiday was, the news and media did not say much at all about Tibet actually i didnt even see once. in contrast every five minute there was something Olympic related

it is a great topic to compose a piece myself, since i am chinese and it is after a really big thing. i was in china this summer when the preparations of Olympics was intense, some hard time came with that.

the most are love voilence, don't worry, no one is calling you sickwe enjoy the shooting of big guns in action movies, we enjoy when two stranger turn argument into a fist fight and we enjoy wrestling....

should we be ashamed because who we really are are not someone so loving caring? is it wrong with us because we like violence so much??

the question is.... why?
after my own research and analysis, i conclude that we are always seeking some sort of amusement, ultimately to achieve short term happiness. and our very intellegent entertainers have feagured out this thousands of years ago already. think about to the romans, how much people enjoyed gladiator fights? its the same today, with all the movie we watch. game we play. music we listen to, alot of it is about how to hurt someone or blow up something.

from that idea, i composed a series of two cutout style painting on canvas, both portraits and both very well know star, entertainers or to some heroes.sifanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16948666810940603792noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9003551249101277425.post-49957286154282405532007-11-12T08:07:00.001-08:002007-11-12T08:25:05.483-08:00find stencil artist.
he is probably the most well known artist in London, thousand of people visit his gallerys everyday
on there way to school, work ect....
Banksky takes the art out of canvases and show rooms, he takes his art on to the streets.....

i see Bansky's work as a mirror of the society, he reflects the political issues through his work, and sometime just making mockeries of people in piece into the program....
a lot of struggle and confusion at the beginning, because i didn't know what to do. been able to self-direct is great, but i didnt know what to do when aj: Natalie said any media any style just have to do something about me. at first it was great, do it the way i want. all this great idea came up to my mind, i wanted to do photography, a impressionist painting, a sculpture ..... and i end up wasting like 2 week been topic confused.
also the topic is "myself", i did know which area of myself i want to focus on there is just simply too much things to choose never had a blog before, it seemed too complicated for me.... but now i see its actually not all that bad. i am kind of glad my first blog is on art, using blogger gives me the opportunity to discuss and share thoughts with other classmate and have the thoughts in record (because often when we have just conversation, some interesting thing may have been said but i always forget it). with blogger i can also see the different styles each one of my classmate have, learning from other is a great way of improving my own work.

blogger is not very developed yet, but i would like to see everyone's work being posted and hear other people's thoughts also share my thought with everyone.

i would really like to see that happening soon.sifanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16948666810940603792noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9003551249101277425.post-48020814384797033122007-10-27T20:59:00.000-07:002007-10-27T21:12:20.693-07:00IB Arti would like to look at IB Art as a field of expression for me, a little bit of myself away from
all the concrete academic studies. IB Art give me more freedom more choice to do what i want to do, this is what i like the most about IB Art, its self-directed. a
at the same time Art has a very time consuming work load, the investigation workbook is a time eater. the bright side of this is again you are actually doing things you like to do, writing down your thoughts and everything you do you can do it in your way, for example is like pop art then you can do pop art, if you like cubism then you can do cubism.
it is comforting knowing even though there is all this 'work' ahead of me but it is a chance for me to be who i want though my art.sifanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16948666810940603792noreply@blogger.com0
