Bansky..... let the stencils do the talking

Bansky is a English urban stencil artist.
he is probably the most well known artist in London, thousand of people visit his gallerys everyday
on there way to school, work ect....
Banksky takes the art out of canvases and show rooms, he takes his art on to the streets.....

i see Bansky's work as a mirror of the society, he reflects the political issues through his work, and sometime just making mockeries of people in power.

finalized first piece

in the end i decided to do an Andy Warhol styled stencil, a series of four small canvases
with stencil of my face in different expression representing different experience at different periods of my life. each piece have a different background representing the different culture i have encountered in my life....

!!!STENCIL IT!!!

stencil is one of my favorite style of art, dont have any particular reason but stenciling just catches my attention. i simply just love it.

for my first piece i chose stencil to be the media i want to work with... here are some picture of the process!

start of first piece ( myself )

the first major piece into the program....
a lot of struggle and confusion at the beginning, because i didn't know what to do. been able to self-direct is great, but i didnt know what to do when aj: Natalie said any media any style just have to do something about me. at first it was great, do it the way i want. all this great idea came up to my mind, i wanted to do photography, a impressionist painting, a sculpture ..... and i end up wasting like 2 week been topic confused.
also the topic is "myself", i did know which area of myself i want to focus on there is just simply too much things to choose from...

Blogger

i never had a blog before, it seemed too complicated for me.... but now i see its actually not all that bad. i am kind of glad my first blog is on art, using blogger gives me the opportunity to discuss and share thoughts with other classmate and have the thoughts in record (because often when we have just conversation, some interesting thing may have been said but i always forget it). with blogger i can also see the different styles each one of my classmate have, learning from other is a great way of improving my own work.

blogger is not very developed yet, but i would like to see everyone's work being posted and hear other people's thoughts also share my thought with everyone.

i would really like to see that happening soon.

IB Art

i would like to look at IB Art as a field of expression for me, a little bit of myself away from
all the concrete academic studies. IB Art give me more freedom more choice to do what i want to do, this is what i like the most about IB Art, its self-directed. a
at the same time Art has a very time consuming work load, the investigation workbook is a time eater. the bright side of this is again you are actually doing things you like to do, writing down your thoughts and everything you do you can do it in your way, for example is like pop art then you can do pop art, if you like cubism then you can do cubism.
it is comforting knowing even though there is all this 'work' ahead of me but it is a chance for me to be who i want though my art.
